Mission Statement
The Enterprise Service Portal of the Reliance Group of Industries was facing extremely low usage due to a huge amount of technical debt and legacy architecture. This brought forth multiple challenges for HR leaders in domains as diverse as leave and attendance, payroll, reimbursements, company policies, talent acquisition, competency frameworks, rewards and recognition, separation and succession management to name a few.

Our Approach
For People First, we were focussed on building on a cloud native platform with a multi-tenant architecture that can cater to RIL companies of varied sizes and requirements, differentiating ourselves in 4 major ways:
1.Impactful user experience
Enterprise tools lag far behind today’s consumer apps. To bridge this we built an intuitive user experience that could be understood by everyone
2.Unified platform
Built from ground up as a unified platform, we ensured seamless login, information flow, consistent employee and administrative experience across modules.
3.Open platform
An open API framework, which allows easy integration with existing systems and is future-ready.
4.Faster time to value
Immediately deliverable on time & on budget. Continued easy-to-adopt automated updates at zero risk of becoming locked in by old software.
Existing Platform

The existing platform was built in the 90s and reflected the aesthetics of that time. It had an outdated aesthetic that urgently needed refreshing and also lacked critical features needed for a robust enterprise HRMS to function at scale to cater to the existing needs of 3 lakh plus employees. This needed to change ground up.

Building Modules of these building blocks
Since it is impossible to show 1800 plus screens here that were shipped during the course of the People First I have chosen to focus on documenting some key modules. The first one is the Performance Management Module (PMS)

The Home Page of the Performance Management system. Key metrics include Goals, Projects, Feedback, Performance Discussions and in the case of managers My Team

The Projects Page is intended to have a 360 degree review of the completed projects and feedback is captured from manager, team mates and peers. Along with this are captured relevant team updates and Goal completion status which are aligned with the projects. All goals are categorised as partially completed, completed and not started.

The Projects page also has a add/remove capability, with members that can be added or removed.

The next key module that I can share here is the LMS (Learning management system) module. This module focuses on encouraging Reliance employee's learning and development.

This is the badges page with a queue system for the RIL employee participating in learning.
